President - Erik Eikenmeyer
Al is pursuing mechanical engineering with minors in mathematics
and engineering management, and this will be his third year with the team.
As president, Al is responsible for the overall organization of the club
structure, new member integration, and overseeing the completion of the car.
Vice President - James Rockow
James is a sophomore pursuing a major in Learning, Literacy, and
Leadership with a minor in Emergency Medical Services and this is his
second year with the team. As the Vice-President he is in charge of
making sure projects are up to date and the team meets its deadlines for
competition. He is also in charge of contacting and finding sponsors and
manages the team’s emails.
Director of Operations - Mathias Ramirez
Mathias is a junior pursuing a major in Aerospace Engineering and a
minor in Mathematics and he has been with the team for two and a half
years. As Director of Operations, he is responsible for overseeing the
design, fabrication, and assembly of the car through the coordination of
subteams and designs. He also teaches new members the engineering
design process as well as how to operate machines and make parts.
Treasurer - Collin Garard
Collin is a junior pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering and this is
his third year with the team. As Treasurer, he is responsible for keeping
track of team finances, as well as exploring cost reduction opportunities
for the vehicle. Information regarding expenses and cost reduction are
then compiled into annual reports for use in the cost-focused aspect of
the competition.
Public Relations - Maria Ramon
Maria is a sophomore pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering
and this is her second year with the team. As PR lead she is in charge
of creating and maintaining a professional brand for the team to help
connect and strengthen relationships with sponsors and the community.
She manages the team’s Instagram, YouTube channel, branding, and
public image.
Webmaster - Josh Kauffman
Josh is a sophomore pursuing a major in Systems Engineering and
this is his second year with the team. As Webmaster, he is in charge of
maintaining a clean and informative website for the team, as well as
posting updates of the team’s progress. He ensures that the website has
accurate recruitment information and easy access to the team’s current
sponsors.
SSB - Nathan Grossman
Nathan is a junior pursuing a double major in Aerospace Engineering
and Applied Mathematics and he has been with the team for a semester.
The SSB sub-team designs and manufactures the SSB attachments (e.g.
steering column, A-Arms, brake pedals), makes informed purchases
about parts that are not manufacturable with our CNC machines (e.g.
master cylinders, shocks), and builds all of those components into the car.
Drivetrain - Nick Sivertson
Nick is a junior pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering and this is
his third year with the team. As drive train lead, he is in charge of getting
power to wheels. This subteam designs, builds and tests the engine,
transmission, gearbox, differentials and axles to get the car to speeds
well over 30 mph. Currently, the team is focused on manufacturing our
first four wheel drive design.
Frame - Maria Ramon
Maria is a sophomore pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering and
this is her second year with the team. As frame lead she is in charge of
overseeing the construction of the chassis and ergonomics of the car.
The frame subteam designs, manufactures, and welds the car’s chassis
so that it can withstand any stress or strain, integrate systems from the
other subteams, and protect the driver.
Electrical - Oliver Sjostrom
Oliver is a sophomore pursing a major in Electrical and Computer
Engineering and this is his second year with the team. As electrical lead
he is in charge of the electrical systems of the car, including the brake
lights, kill switches and telemetry system. This year, the team is focused
on getting its first functional telemetry system which will collect data such
as GPS location and RPM of the gears and wheels as the car is driving.
Business - Charlotte Trujillo
Charlotte is a junior pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering with a
minor in Mathematics, and this is her second year with the team. The
business team is responsible for making the business presentation which
includes a manufacturing, distribution, and marketing plans, vehicle
design and finances. They are also in charge of acquiring funds for the
team and maintaining communications with the sponsors.
